Why it's important
Why it's important
The archive includes the designs for innovative bat bricks and bat roosts, drawn up by Derek Ungley, bat recording data and correspondence.
The papers showcase the connection between national approaches to the conservation of bats and the local area, as well as how these programmes connected to the wider study of the environment of Yorkshire. Derek Ungley's correspondence illustrates his connections with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and the Yorkshire Naturalists Union.
