The archives of environmental organisations are enriched by the papers of individual naturalists, such as the eminent botanist Catherine ‘Kit’ Rob and the internationally important Pipistrelle bat recording study of Michael Thompson. Taken alone, these archives provide a wealth of information recording the research of Yorkshire scientists in their own words. Together,  they build a wider picture of scientific research networks across Yorkshire and the UK. These archives particularly highlight the longstanding relationship between scientists, organisations and the University.
